BlackMoon Cosplay actually started as two other companies. It started as Loligoth, but when I decided that was way too girly it switched over to Black Cherry Inc. in 2005, staying with that name till the end of 2008. The name was changed again because there was already a company called Black Cherry. So then came BlackMoon. Its all one word because I beleive it looks better that way. And strangely enough, once I changed the name of the company to BlackMoon, logo design ideas just came rushing to my head. It seemed to be alot easier than before. BlackMoon's logo is a moon and stars encircling a howling wolf. It just made sense.
So here it is; BlackMoon. I plan to keep it that way until I shut down the business for good. It'll stay also at this web address till I feel like moving. But don't worry, if that happens, the front page will let you know where to go.
My name is Emily. I was born in March of 1984, you do the math. I started cosplaying in 2000 with my first costume being Ash Ketchum from Pokemon. At that point I didn't even know what cosplaying was until I went to my first convention in 2003. Which was Anime Boston of course. Ever since then I've been an active member of the cosplay community. I made over 40 costumes plus many for friends and siblings.
I'm known within the cosplay community as the name AkaneSaotome. It's also my username on almost everthing cosplay related so you'll be able to look me up real easily. I've won numerous awards in both skit production and craftsmanship. I've also been the cosplay masquerade judge at the convention Anime Boston for 3 years in a row. (06-08) My main hobby is cosplaying of course but I also love to draw, and sketch new ideas, act, and dance. I did competitive dancing for 18yrs.
So I've opened up my talents to all of you and the entire convention/cosplay community. Thanks for being so awesome!
